ready for the marketplace, or what to fix in the rewrite?
After examining your script's premise, tone, character development, dialogue,
plotting, structure, rhythm, pacing, format, and overall marketability,
Peter Myers will give you a spot-on, extensive write-up --- running anywhere
from 6 to 20 single -spaced pages --- showing which areas need work, in
order to give you a better shot at selling it ! Peter did this when he was
a partner in several independent production companies, and he became very
good at it!
Script analysis fee: $250.00, with a turnaround of 1 to 2 weeks. Post-analysis
consulting fee: $50.00/hr.
Peter has either written for hire or optioned ten feature scripts and has
had a number of things produced for the media of syndicated television and
cable. In 2008, he anticipates writing a script for 2006 Oscar/Golden Globe
nominee, actor Terrence Howard who asked him to work on the project.
Peter has developed a script with Best Picture Oscar-winning producer, Fred
Roos. In 2005, a script of his won an Honorable Mention in the script competition
at the Thunderbird Int'l Film Festival. His short film, Double Cross, which
he co-wrote and co-produced, was offered a worldwide distribution deal within
a month of its completion.
In 2008, a European princess hired Peter for low six-figures (with a mid-six-figure
production bonus), to write a theatrical feature based on her life story.
The project already has the interest of three producers, including one who
has won two Best Picture Oscars, and another who already wants to do the
film for $20 million. Additionally, 2008 Best Supporting Actress Oscar winner,
Tilda Swinton, is interested in playing the role of the Princess' sister.
In 2007, Peter completed a sci-fi/action/thriller feature script for Bluewater
Productions, which has also optioned three of his film treatments, which
are either scripted or in development.
Peter has himself produced short films and is producing one of his own
theatrical feature scripts in 2008 on a $5 million dollar budget, so he
analyzes scripts from the viewpoint of a writer/producer.

:
Peter -
I just wanted to personally thank you for the superlative script analysis
you provided on my teen thriller/horror script GINGERBREAD. I incorporated
many of your well thought out notes and as a result I'm having unprecedented
success.
Just this past week, I received a phone call from Creative Screenwriting
Magazine informing me that GINGERBREAD took Third Place (out of 3,500
submissions) in their AAA Competition. Needless to say, I was utterly
shocked. Especially, because GINGERBREAD is a teen thriller/horror that
would not normally be recognized in such a way.
The screenplay is now going out to 350 agencies and production companies
around the town. Prior to this win, GINGERBREAD was also a Top Twenty script
at the Slamdance Horror Competition and an Honorable Mention at this
past year's Screenwriting Expo in Los Angeles. I'm already being
contacted by Managers to see if I'm repped.
Thanks so much Peter. You really made a huge difference!
Best,
Dirk Levinsohn

Peter,
What can I say; you are truly a master at what you do
I have to tell
you a quick story. One year ago, I had submitted my script along with a
check to a script analysis, in returned, three months later, I received
a two-page double spaced letter back, stating that my script was well crafted,
polished, and there is noting more that I can do
I was excited, so
I submitted my screenplay in a screenplay competition. It won semi finalist
out of 2,200 which is not to bad. I thought wow! What now? Thinking that
my script was ready, I started submitting it to produces that had requested
it. But in return, never got a response back
Even though this particular
script-analysis told me that it was ready. I knew inside, that something
in the script just was not working.. But what? I thought to myself.
Then I met Peter Myers, my script savoir. Peter, your work was not only
worth every single dime, but you sent me a fifteen page SINGLE letter stating
all the things that my script desperately needed or did not need. You turned
it up, down and inside out. Your turn-around time was a whopping week in
a half. WOW! Your work Peter was so detail and insightful that my script
is now on the RIGHT PATH. You were honest, sincere and gave my script the
attention that it needed.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart Peter Myers.
I look forward to your re-analysis.. "would not go anywhere else"
Sincerely,
Penny Laurae Onkka

Peter,
Many thanks. WOW! What a lot of work you've done. You've really earned
your money on this one.
Reading your analysis, I can see exactly why you've come to the conclusions
you have and it will really help me to make my script better and more marketable.
I can see you're dead right on it - absolutely. As you say, I've got some
work to do, but I can see what I need to do, thanks to you. Glad I met you.
Many thanks.
Ian

Peter's comments about my romantic comedy script were extremely helpful.
The tone was constructive and felt like it originated from a cooperative,
let's-make-this-the-best-script-possible point of view.
Though the script needs some work, his comments inspired me to continue
to look forward, to the future, with confidence, as I improve and fine-tune
the process of learning how to put the fire on the page.
My dear Peter, thank you,
Mary Rutkovsky

As a novice screenwriter I coudn't have made a better choice. Peter did
an outstanding job on my script evaluation. I plan on sticking with him
on future projects. He told me things about my script that I needed to hear
and he did it in a kind way, to me, that aspect was very important. After
discussing the problems and solutions, I now have a second gust of inspiration
to finish my script with confidence that it will be better than ever.
I can't thank him enough.
Thanks again Peter.

Hi Peter!
Just wanted to say, "An Evening With Peter Myers" was excellent!
It was the most helpful and liberating seminar I've ever been to on writing,
and in particular, screenwriting and the business surrounding it. Your anecdotes,
humility, sincerity, measured evaluations of the current environment and
wise advice were just what I needed to get and stay inspired. Your inner
strength and simple intention is contagious, and I'm glad I was there to
catch it. Thanks!

So glad I met Peter Myers! I'd had some success in a few contests but wanted
to elevate my scripts to a professional level. Peter's complete, multi-page
analysis was extremely helpful. Not only did he give great story advice
but also marketing guidance from the viewpoint of a producer. Thanks so
much, Peter.

Peter,
Thank you for this analysis. I love it. A few months ago I almost went to
a screenwriting seminar in NY but I didn't have time. So I thought, why
not just spend the equivalent amount of money and buy books that will last
forever. So I did buy a few great screenwriting books. The problem was time.
I only had so much time to fit in writing so I procrastinated in reading
the books. Last night I read your analysis of my script, which wonderful.
Many of the areas which I was not sure about at the time of writing you
found and commented on. Interesting how there are so many things that pop
up that I did not anticipate. Therefore, my format in certain areas was
only my own invention, and, thus, you found these inventions to be unacceptable
format. Thank God that the computer program does most of the formatting.
This one book, The Screenwriters Bible, Third Edition, is great. Sounds
like you wrote it. I really should have read it long ago. Now that I have
experience writing, the book makes more sense and I understand and can relate
to what it discusses.
So I think your analysis was most valuable now and it blends in with my
accelerated learning program relative to this profession. Your suggestions
in all areas will be invaluable in getting this project to a higher level.
I really appreciate your thorough evaluation and suggestions.
Thanks for being so complete in your analysis and time and cost efficient.
With Warmest Regards,
Brad Batchelor

Peter Myers evaluation and analysis of my screenplay was key in assisting
toward its re-write and completion.
Peter first evaluated what was strong about my screenplay. No condescending
screenplay bashing going on here! I felt respected as an artist and encouraged
to write on, not stifled or discouraged as so often individuals who we trust
our precious "babies" with do.
From there he critiqued for continuity and consistency of story and style.
He helped me evaluate what was superfluous so I'd have a tight, moving story.
I felt Peter's expert help got me beyond barriers that I would not otherwise
been aware of. I very highly recommend Peter for his expertise as a writer/analyst
and as a person who can be safe and trustworthy with such a delicate task!
Sincerely, Cassandra Spencer, Los Angeles, Calif.

Peter was able to help clarify for me weak points on my current project,
discover the scenes that were not contributing to the message and/or story,
grammatical and continuity errors and over all direction. I would highly
recommend him for script analysis.
Sincerely, Dharma Wright, Los Angeles, Calif.

Peter Myers did a thorough script analysis for me on my soccer-related
script. He examined all levels in the piece and told me exactly what I had
to do to make it better. I would recommend him to anyone seeking a spot-on
analysis of their screenplay.

To Whom It May Concern:
I am associated with a French actor/writer, and hired Peter Myers to do
an analysis on the script, PINK LIMO. He gave me a 5 1/2-page, single-spaced
analysis, which covered all the things needed on how to make the script
better. He looked at the project from the creative and marketing angles.
He didn't get into destructive criticism, but laser-beamed right to what
should be worked on to make the script work fully. He understood the genre,
but also discussed many details like story beats and dialogue needing improvement.
Plus, he showed knowledge of how greenlighting decisions are made in Hollywood.
I would hire him again, as the need arises, and would recommend him to any
writer as a competent script analyst.
Sincerely,
Karin Zatt, Westwood, Calif.
