| The
InkTip.com team works very hard to provide leads to our writers.
Here's how the Preferred Newsletter works:
The staff at InkTip constantly contacts industry professionals to gather
new leads for our newsletter each week. The leads provided by InkTip are
therefore always current. You are also provided information about the producer's
background/credits so that you know to whom you are submitting.
We do our very best to get the producers to be as specific as possible about
what they need. Broad calls for scripts are usually a waste of our writers'
time and are less likely to result in writers hired, scripts sold, or writers
gaining representation.
The leads are first distributed to our Preferred Newsletter subscribers.
The next week, the InkTip staff follows up with the producers to determine
if they are finding what they need, or if we should send the lead to the
regular newsletter subscribers as well. This is why the Preferred Newsletter
contains 4-8 leads a week and the regular free newsletter averages about
1 a week.
Because InkTip takes the time to cultivate relationships with our producers,
the leads become even more valuable to the writer - you can be assured that
if you submit, the industry professional is very likely to see at least
your logline. With the new submission system, your chances of getting in
front of the producer are that much greater - their email address isn't
plastered all over the internet for nonsubscribers who submit whatever they
have regardless of what the producer is seeking. It also prevents the producer
from having to deal with an influx of spam, thereby potentially obscuring
your submission.
Please consider this: How many companies out there provide one lead a week
(that they personally generated where they checked references and credits),
let alone 4-8? None. There is a reason for that. These leads don't fall
in our lap. It's a lot of work to obtain them! If it weren't, others would
be doing it. We at InkTip take pride in the fact that we provide you with
the most reliable, valuable, and effective leads in the business!
Through InkTip's newsletter, we have had a number of successes, including
(but not limited to!) a 6-figure sale through Energy Entertainment manager
Brooklyn Weaver, the recently announced success Ian Holt found with producers
Jan de Bont and Ken Atchity, which was mentioned in Variety, and a project
with Treasure Entertainment, which announced several name attachments in
April 2006. In 2005, 2 scripts were sold, 39 scripts were optioned, and
15 writers gained representation, and in 2006, 38 scripts were optioned
or writers were hired, and 1 writer gained representation!
Important note for our subscribers: If you have any spam filters
in place, you'll need to add the following email addresses to your "safe
list" or "mailing list" preferences so InkTip emails don't
end up in your junk mail folder: Jerrol@inktippro.com and Invite@inktippro.com.
You should also keep an eye on your junk folder for incoming email from
producers who might email you with their email address.
