Produced Films
InkTip is now averaging one script produced per month!!
Here is a list of the scripts that have been produced from scripts or writers found through our network, including three-picture deals and six-figure sales!

2007

Ryan Vernon, formerly with Avatar Entertainment, hit upon writer Mark Davidson’s script, 'Blue Blood,' on InkTip.com, leading Avatar Entertainment to hire Mr. Davidson to write the screenplay' The Lost Tribe.' Principal photography began this month and the film is scheduled for a Summer 2008 release. Roel Reiné is directing the film (more information about the director and producers can be found on IMDB.com).

John Murlowski with Dog Productions has optioned AND completed production on Marlowe, which was written by InkTip scribe Steve Peterson. Murlowski's previous credits include Black Cadillac. Steve Peterson has now had three options or hires off of InkTip, with this being his first produced feature film.

'Fast Girl,' written by InkTip scribe D. Glase Lomond (along with Luke Ricci), has secured distribution though Allumination Filmworks for a nationwide DVD release. MarVista Entertainment is handling television and international distribution on this feature film. If Glase Lomond's name sounds familiar, that's because he had another script option announced just earlier this month. 'Fast Girl' was directed by Daniel Zirilli, who has more than twenty directing and producing credits to his resume, and Lomond has written or co-written four of them. Congratulations to them both! Fast Girl was produced by Matador Films, and in association with Popart Film Factory.

Rich Poche of Poche Pictures has begun principal photography on the romantic comedy feature ‘Rescuing Rufus,’ by Daniel Hughes, which stars Stuart Brazell (of the reality show ‘Dirty Dancing’), Elizabeth Di Prinzio, Gina DeVettori, Natalie Edwards, Sara Konecky, and Elizabeth Lauren Hoffman (from youtube's popular ‘Blonde Star’). Having directed multiple award-winning shorts, including ‘The Wanderer,’ and the boxing documentary ‘Corazon,’ this will be Poche's feature directorial debut. This is not the first time Hughes has been hired to write a screenplay, but it is the first one to go into production!

Juan Frausto of Vendetta Pictures has commenced principle photography on the horror feature ‘RoadKill,’ which was written by InkTip scribe David Zagorski. ‘Roadkill’ stars Siboney Lo, Rosa Ysela Frausto, Noel Guglielmi, and Nicolas Guzman, and is about a serial killer who picks up and murders hitchhikers – only to pick up and face off with another serial killer who murders people who pick up hitchhikers. (Finally, a film that pits two serial killers against each other!) Frausto’s previous credits include ‘Get Pony Boy’ and ‘Once Upon a Time in the Hood.’ This is Zagorski’s second option through InkTip; his last option resulted in a produced film entitled ‘The Wickeds,’ which starred Ron Jeremy.

Anita Udeep with Pentamedia has finished production on the animated feature ‘Cathy in Space,’ which was written by InkTip scribe Richard Dane Scott. Scott, who is repped by Jeff Belkin of Foremost Films, has had a number of short films produced by InkTip members, as well as a couple of feature options and hires. Pentamedia, which is based out of India, specializes in family-oriented animation features; their previous credits include an animated version of ‘Gulliver’s Travels.’

Mark McNabb with Skylight Films hired scribe Barry Cowan to write the script ‘Billy Owens and the Secret of the Runes.’ This project is now in production, and stars famed wrestler and action star Roddy Piper (who is known for, among other projects, his role in John Carpenter’s ‘They Live’). This is actually a sequel to the soon-to-be-released ‘The Mystical Adventures of Billy Owens,’ which will be screened at AFM in Santa Monica next month, and which is being released by Artist View Entertainment. ‘I never would have met Barry if I hadn’t met you guys first,’ Mark related in a recent phone conversation. This isn’t Barry Cowan’s first hire or option through InkTip, although it is his first movie to get produced.

Tim Scott of Aurora Productions Inc. has finished production on the short film ‘Dark Sessions,’ written by InkTip scribe Dan Smith. Scott found the script on InkTip. Smith has recently released a novel; more information can be found at www.dwsmith.net.

Lions Gate Entertainment has released the film 'Pirates of Ghost Island' on DVD. David Sterling of Sterling Entertainment discovered the screenwriting talent of Kristin Johnson on InkTip and hired her to pen the script with Pauline Thomas. The film was directed by Mitch Toles and stars William Landsman, Melissa Powell, Thomas Stiver, Jennifer Cascio, Tristan Baker, Noa Geller, Stephen Francis, and Maya Gilbert.

Director Rich Newey is in post production on the feature musical currently titled 'I Tried.' The film was written by Newey and InkTip screenwriter Kevin Caruso, who Newey found through our newsletter. Interscope Records wanted to create a film project based on hip-hop group Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, and the film stars Layzie Bone, Krayzie Bone, and Wish Bone. The story documents the fictional account of what would have happened if Bone Thugs-N-Harmony never got their fateful audition for Eazy E. Steve Lobel is executive producing the project with Jeff Clanagan and Randy Sosin producing. Caruso recently gained representation through InkTip with Sue Giordano of the Hudson Agency.

John Johnson of Darkstone Entertainment has produced the feature film 'Democ,' written by scribe David Dmitri Broitman. Broitman was hired to write a feature for Johnson after he found Broitman on InkTip many years ago for a different project. Impressed by his writing, Johnson stayed in contact with Broitman, which led to 'Democ.' Broitman is a produced writer with a couple features to his credit, including 'Don't Shoot the Pharmacist!', which he also produced. 'Don't Shoot The Pharmacist!' marks his feature directorial debut. It stars Ben Bailey (Discovery Channel's 'CashCab' show host), Godfrey (7-Up spokesman, 'Soul Plane'), Steve Byrne (regular on 'The Real Wedding Crashers') and Ardie Fuqua (VH1), and it's due out next year. John Johnson was one of the producers on two other InkTip projects: 'Altered,' by the creators of the Blair Witch Project, and 'Alucard.'

Drimtim Entertainment S.A. is now in production on the feature script 'Hidden Camera,' which they bought from scribe Michael Salort, whom they found on InkTip. The film shot last December with filmmakers and artists from around the country including Florida, Texas, North Carolina, Hawaii, New York, and California. Besides writing the screenplay, Rosenthal was also one of the co-producers on the project along with Alex Haney. The film stars Joshua Wolf Coleman (Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, House M.D.), Breven Angaelica Warren, Jeff Kober (The Hills Have Eyes II), Ariel Mirabel-Ramos, and Kyra Walters. Warren describes Coleman's lead performance as 'deep and emotional.' Currently Warren is working on the score for the film and hopes to begin submitting to festivals soon.

The hilarious new comedy film 'Small Timers' by GAG Order Films has wrapped principal photography in Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas. 'Small Timers' is big comedy that revolves around the life of three amateur crooks, Antoine, Chris, and Ricardo who strive to make it BIG in the criminal world with the perfect score. With all the quirky characters and awkward situations, this movie will have the feel of a Will Farrell comedy, the capers of 'Ocean's 11,' and taste of 'Dumb and Dumber.' Grammy Award winning manager and film producer, Tim Grace found the original script from an InkTip writer, Cortez Davis. "Mr. Davis' script was hilarious from the first reading... I had to produce this outrageous film. It was so irreverently funny and it promises to be a fan favorite at festivals and through DVD rentals!" 'Small Timers' is slated to be completed this spring!
